You don’t ever want to hear about players getting MRIs, and you really don’t want to hear about players getting MRIs several months after the original injury, when there is still no timetable for their return. But that’s the situation with Triston Casas, who has still yet to swing a bat as recovers from his early season rib injury. Casas underwent an MRI yesterday, reportedly to confirm that the rib is healing properly. He’ll meet with the medical staff today to hopefully get clearance to ramp up activities. Casas’s injury is, of course, one of a number that have afflicted the Sox so far this season.
