There were some raised eybrows on Saturday night, when the Red Sox announced that it would be Josh Winckowski who would go to Worcester to make room for Brayan Bello. But Alex Cora spoke to the media yesterday and shined some light on the decision. Specifically, the Sox want him to stay stretched out as a starter and work on his arsenal with an aim of adding more variety to his pitch shapes and velocity. It sounds like Cooper Criswell will remain with the big league club in Winckowski’s old swing man role when Garrett Whitlock returns.
