The Duranaissance continued apace last night at the All-Star Game. Jarren Duran’s monster homer in the fifth inning off flame-thrower Hunter Greene put the American League up for good and won him MVP honors. The All-Star Game MVP was first presented in 1962, and yet Red Sox players have already won it five times. The most famous winner was, naturally, Pedro Martinez, who stole the show in front of what was probably the greatest collection of baseball talent ever assembled in one building. But the last winner was JD Drew in 2008. (Christopher Smith, MassLive)
Despite starring on the national stage for a night, though, Duran is trying to remain grounded.
