Here come the running Red Sox! After swiping nine bags against the Yankees last weekend, Bryan Joiner speculated in our office Slack that this is the probably fastest Red Sox team of all time. I argued that one of the early 20th century teams led by Tris Speaker and Harry Hooper was probably faster but, as it turns out, we both may be right! The Sox have stolen 32 bases in the month of June so far, meaning if they steal just two more bases, it’ll mark the most stolen bases in one month since July 1915 (Speaker swiped 9 that month, while Hooper chipped in with 4).
