Red Sox must get pitchers back to pitching

Cole Hamels isn’t walking through that door, not today, not tomorrow, maybe not ever.

Neither, for now, is Eduardo Rodriguez or Brian Johnson, touted lefties with seven Triple-A starts between them and that’s no matter how well they’re pitching.

So, what you see with the Red Sox rotation is what you get.

And what you see is downright hideous.

Even after Rick Porcello’s had-to-have-it seven-inning gem Wednesday night at Fenway Park, which prompted manager John Farrell to exhale with all the strength of a hurricane-force wind, Sox starters have combined for a 5.75 ERA, worst in the majors.
