Mission 108 is a human trafficking and human rights focused charity founded by Boston Red Sox pitcher Robbie Ross, Jr. and his wife Brittany in 2012.
Human trafficking is a huge problem in this world. According to the Polaris Project, there are 20.9 million victims of human trafficking globally and it is a $150 billion industry. The mission statement of this charity is to advocate on behalf of marginalized people focusing on human trafficking and the extreme poor.
The Red Sox left-hander felt obligated to use his professional platform to raise awareness to a bigger issue than just baseball and put good into the world.
