We haven’t talked a lot about Jerez this year, but he’s probably worth mentioning in a relatively uneventful game. The lefty is on the 40-man roster so he could factor in at some point, though I doubt it’s anytime too soon. The strikeout stuff is intriguing — he has 43 Ks in 31 innings — but he’s been inconsistent with the command. Still, it’s clear the Red Sox believe in the talent, and they have had trouble finding a consistent left-handed presence in the bullpen.
