It was not a great outing for Beeks, with a lack of control undoing him in that first game of this doubleheader. Bad starts obviously happen, and this really wasn’t a blowup or anything, but between this and his rough major-league debut one has to wonder about his spot on the depth chart. I certainly expect to see him in the bigs again, of course, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Chandler Shepherd has emerged as the preferred option if a need was to arise at some point in the near-future.
