Phillips made his way up to Pawtucket on Saturday as he tries to get back to the majors. Given the latest news on Dustin Pedroia, there is a real chance that Phillips could prove useful to the Red Sox this summer. He certainly needs some time to shake the rust off after not playing for most of the year, but he has the skills to be part of the second base rotation. Also, shoutout to Cuevas and Jerez for a couple of big days on the mound.
Danny Mars, RF: 2-4, 1 2B, 3 RBI, 1 K
Michael Chavis, DH: 1-4, 1 BB, 1 K
Josh Ockimey, 1B: 0-2, 3 BB, 1 R
Jordan Betts, 3B: 3-4, 1 R, 1 RBI
Tate Matheny, CF: 2-4, 1 BB, 1 RBI, 1 K
Austin Rei, C: 2-4, 1 2B, 1 BB, 1 R
Travis Lakins: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 0 K (8 pitches)
No one is really sticking in that last spot of the Red Sox bullpen, though to be fair that is largely because the big-league team has been in seemingly constant need of a fresh arm of late.
