The Red Sox’ coaching staff has been overhauled heading into the 2018 season, but down on the farm the team isn’t making many changes.
The Sox announced their minor league coaching staffs yesterday, and they will be keeping a majority from a year ago with only minor changes throughout the system.
At Triple-A Pawtucket, where the Red Sox aren’t expected to have many notable prospects other than first baseman Sam Travis and, perhaps later this year, third baseman Michael Chavis, the manager will again be Kevin Boles, who will be returning for his fifth year. Former Sox catcher Rich Gedman will continue as hitting coach and Bruce Crabbe stays on as an extra bench coach.
