Red Sox manager John Farrell, who successfully battled lymphoma in the summer of 2015, is giving back to those affected by the disease.
Farrell and the team announced today that they will create a new ticket program, called "Farrell's Fighters," that will invite patients being treated for lymphoma, and their families, to a game each month throughout the season.
“It was a challenging battle going through the treatment a few years ago, and beyond the support of family and friends, one of the things that helped me get through it was the escape I found in the game of baseball,” said Farrell in a statement released by the team.
