Until a predictably wild Henry Owens was removed after recording only nine outs in the Red Sox’ 7-3 win over the White Sox last night, Boston’s starting rotation had been on a roll.
Yes, that rotation, the same group that was so hittable early in the season that John Farrell’s forearms might’ve grown from all the lifting he did picking up the dugout phone to call down to the bullpen.
But until Owens’ start last night, Red Sox starters had thrown at least six innings in nine straight games. Seven of those games were wins.
Now what?
