After the Boston Red Sox beat the Tampa Bay Rays Monday, manager Alex Cora confirmed that Mitch Moreland would be activated from the injured list for Tuesday’s game.
This afternoon, we learned that the corresponding move to clear a spot for Moreland on the active roster was that Marco Hernandez has been optioned to Triple-A Pawtucket.
Prior to tonight’s game at TB, the #RedSox returned 1B Mitch Moreland from his injury rehabilitation assignment with Triple-A Pawtucket and reinstated him from the 10-day IL.
To make room for Moreland on the 25-man roster, the club optioned INF Marco Hernández to Pawtucket.
