When sports teams and athletes across the United States heard the news that former president George H.W. Bush passed away Friday at the age of 94, many of them saluted the 41st commander-in-chief.
Bush was an avid sports fan who played first base and was a captain for Yale University in the 1940s. He led them to the College World Series in 1947 and 1948. Bush lived in Texas for most of his life, but he was born in Milton, Mass., so the Red Sox paid tribute to him Saturday on Twitter.
Today our thoughts and prayers go out to the Bush family.
