Red Sox hurler Rick Porcello to DL

Red Sox starter Rick Porcello won’t be one of the pitchers in the plans for the upcoming road trip, as manager John Farrell announced the right-hander will be headed to the disabled list with soreness and inflammation in his triceps.

Farrell said Porcello complained about the soreness following his latest start against the Chicago White Sox on July 29 when he surrendered 10 hits and six runs (five earned) in just two innings. It was the second, two-inning start Porcello made in July, and this latest setback is just another frustration for the 26-year-old in his first year with the team.
