Red Sox hand ball to reliever Craig Breslow for today's start, plus lineup

Reliever Craig Breslow gets the start this afternoon, as the Red Sox turn to their bullpen to churn out some innings in the next to last home game of the season. A desire to rest some of their younger pitchers led to the unusual alignment.

David Ortiz is not in the lineup as the DH. Dustin Pedroia will take the place of Ortiz, with Josh Rutledge getting the start at second base.

The Red Sox today are honoring their minor league players of the year. This year's winners are first baseman Sam Travis, Minor League Offensive Player of the Year; left-handed pitcher Williams Jerez, Minor League Pitcher of the Year; shortstop Javier Guerra, Defensive Player of the Year; infielder Yoan Moncada, Base Runner of the Year; outfielder Lorenzo Cedrola, Latin Program Player of the Year and right-handed pitcher Denyi Reyes, Latin Program Pitcher of the Year.
