Red Sox expect David Price update after second opinion on Friday afternoon

KISSIMMEE, Fla. --Wait and see, that’s all the Red Sox could do on Friday morning in regards to the status of David Price.

Price is in Indianapolis to see Dr. James Andrews and Dr. Neal ElAttrache for a second opinion on his ailing elbow after an initial MRI revealed swelling and fluid buildup.

Manager John Farrell said Friday that he expected Price to meet with them in the afternoon.

A model of durability, Price leads all major league pitchers with 1,529 innings since the start of the 2010 season. But Farrell said there were no indications he would be prone to an elbow injury.
