Red Sox expect after rest, Eduardo Rodriguez will pitch this season

NEW YORK -- The Red Sox confirmed on Tuesday that they have no timetable for when Eduardo Rodriguez might be able to return after suffering his third knee injury in the last 16 months.

They do expect him to pitch again this season.

Comcast New England reported on Monday that Rodriguez would have to rest for 3-4 weeks before he would be able to get back on the mound. Even then, it’s no certainty he’ll be able to avoid surgery.

The Red Sox would not confirm this timetable, but didn’t dispute it, either.

“I’m aware of some reports that are out there but we’ve not been given any kind of a time frame by Dr.
