--Well, not entirely devoid of A-Rod. Here’s John Farrell on the 3-and-0 pitch Junichi Tazawa threw to Alex Rodriguez in the eighth inning that resulted, all in one stroke, in a Willie Mays-tying 660th home run and the hit that broke a 2-all tie:
“Three-oh fastball, challenged him and got beat,’’ Farrell said.
