BOSTON -- A day after their biggest star stood center stage, the Boston Red Sox reminded everyone that there is a supporting cast on this year’s team, and it’s a pretty good one.
That was evident once again in Sunday’s 10-9 win over the Houston Astros at Fenway Park, which witnessed a makeshift lineup -- with Saturday’s luminary David Ortiz getting a day off -- club 14 hits while recording the team’s fifth game of 10-plus runs on the seven-game homestand.
Sure, Xander Bogaerts homered, Mookie Betts had the decisive RBI triple in the bottom of the seventh and Hanley Ramirez recorded three hits and an RBI.
