The Red Sox (6-12) are bad right now, but tonight they send Nathan Eovaldi to the mound for the 6:35 p.m. start against the Yankees (7-9), against whom he thrived last season. It won’t matter if the team can’t otherwise hit, field or throw, but it’s at least a start. Maybe. Things are pretty glum around here.

But I didn’t even notice at the game because I stopped paying attention, even to the MVP. It was that type of night and it’s been that type of season.
