The Red Sox land on the South Side for a series with the mighty White Sox starting tonight behind Tanner Houck (8:10 p.m., NESN).
In theory, the Sox are riding the high from Wednesday’s Hunter Renfroe-propelled miracle win. In reality, Renfroe’s subsequent dustup with the league office over COVID testing, with Chris Sale’s immediate graduation to the COVID list, maybe have dampered the enthusiasm a bit. Also the off day, which has a way of resetting things, given that it’s the whole idea of an off day.
Anyhow, merely two el stops and a 10 minute bus ride from the campus of the University of Chicago, the Sox will square off against Carlos Rodón, who’s good as hell.
