The Red Sox, largely quiet through today’s 4 p.m. trade deadline, kick off a massive three-game series against the second-place Rays tonight in Florida behind Martín Pérez (7:10 p.m., NESN, MLBN out-of-market).
So that happened. Or didn’t. The Sox traded for Kyle Schwarber yesterday but sat out the rest of the deadline’s festivities EXCEPT for nabbing reliever Hansel Robles under the wire. Apparently they traded Michael Chavis too! But hoo boy, where there a lot big deals NOT involving the Sox! Huge names were dispersed, mostly from the Cubs and Nationals, to all corners of America, while several top-tier prospects got new addresses as well.
