FORT MYERS -- Alex Cora has been praised for his ability to spot detailed information like the opposing team’s signals behind the plate, but he’s concerned MLB’s new pace of play rules may prevent teams from preventing such theft.
The much-anticipated rule changes for the 2018 season were unveiled on Monday, and while the changes aren’t as drastic as some thought -- there is no pitch clock, to the relief of many -- there are questions as to how the new rules will be enforced.
The changes fall under two umbrellas. There’s the new rule that will limit teams to only six mound visits per nine-inning games.
