Red Sox activate Mookie Betts from 10-day disabled list

So much for the idea that Mookie Betts needed a rehab stint to get his timing back at the plate. The Boston Red Sox activated their star outfielder prior to Monday night’s game in Baltimore.

To make room on the 25-man roster, the club optioned first baseman Sam Travis to Triple-A Pawtucket.

Betts is back in his familiar leadoff spot in tonight’s lineup against the Orioles.

The 25-year old has missed the last 13 games with pain in his abdomen. The injury was never considered to be all that serious. Yet you can’t blame the team for being ultra-cautious.
