Just when I think I’m out, they pull me back in. On Sunday morning, I saw Rafael Devers had the day off, and for the first time in seemingly forever, opted not to go to the game despite having the free time. Three pitches into the game, I felt I made the right decision when James Paxton went down and the game was in the hands of the bullpen. Later in the afternoon, Jarren Duran said some things he shouldn’t have, and the team lost 10-2. The season appeared to be in a tailspin.
Tonight, I returned to Fenway after the walk-off win (I was also at the walk-off win on Monday, but I’m omitting that for narrative purposes), hopeful after last night’s win.
