I wanted to start tonight’s game recap with my pregame thoughts because they’ll likely influence my attitude as I watch tonight’s game. After scouting the Marlins, I’ve concluded that if the Red Sox are truly a playoff team, they’ll win tonight. Their starting pitcher, Valente Bellozo, is making his second career start and doesn’t have a major league arsenal. He has a good changeup, but his fastball should be crushed by major-league hitters if he doesn’t locate it flawlessly. The Miami bullpen is middle of the pack, and the lineup is one of the worst in baseball.
