The box score doesn’t even begin to underline how incredible Crochet’s outing was. That was one of the most refreshing things to see, a pig just eating innings and mowing down batters like no one’s business. He retired the first 15 batters in a row.
The offense…still isn’t there. But maybe, just maybe, Trevor Story is going to start a new chapter in this Red Sox season. No sweep at the hands of the White Sox feels like a weird consolation for the expectations before the series but I guess we’ll take it in hindsight.
