This was...a wild one. For a decent portion of this game it seemed like the Red Sox were going to go home with another loss. The offense was doing their part but Nathan Eovaldi was awful in his third start with the team and Heath Hembree struggled later in the game out of the bullpen. The offense was there to pick up the slack, though. The pitching has done that plenty in this second half, so they earned this support from the bats. Alex Cora did have to use a bunch of pitchers in this game, which was not ideal before Saturday’s doubleheader, but they got a win.
