ARLINGTON, Texas — The Texas Rangers recalled infielder Hanser Alberto from Triple-A Round Rock on Wednesday and designated infielder Adam Rosales for assignment.
The 22-year-old Alberto made his major league debut with the Rangers in late May and returned to the minors in early July. He primarily played second base, hitting .247 in 25 games with three RBIs. In 81 games with Round Rock, he hit .310 with four home runs and 32 RBIs.
The 32-year-old Rosales appeared in 55 games for Texas and hit .228 with three homers and seven RBIs.
Also, reliever Tanner Scheppers was activated from the 15-day disabled list and optioned to Triple-A Round Rock.
