Rafael Devers is one Red Sox prospect Dave Dombrowski plans to keep around

Dave Dombrowski doesn't have any interest in trading Rafael Devers. In fact, the Red Sox president of baseball operations is making it quite clear that he's very much looking forward to Devers being the team's third baseman of the future.

That future, though, is still a little while away.

Devers has been tearing it up at the hot corner for the Portland Sea Dogs this season, but even combined with recent struggles and lack of depth for the Sox at third base, the organization doesn't want to rush him up to the big leagues.

"Devers is a good player," Dombrowski said Wednesday during a radio appearance on "Ordway, Merloni & Fauria" on WEEI.
