Price's playoff woes continue in short start

BOSTON -- Discussing his winless record in postseason starts on the eve of Game 2 in the American League Division Series, Red Sox left-hander David Price admitted he had no explanation for his inability to translate his regular-season success to October.

As it turns out, Price never did find an answer. The Yankees chased him in the second inning on Saturday night, after Price gave up three runs to bloat his playoff ERA as a starter to 6.03.

Entering the night 0-8 with a 5.74 ERA as a starter in the postseason, Price remained one of three pitchers in history with at least nine postseason starts and zero wins.
