In 75 games for the Red Sox this season, Pedroia is batting .287 with 15 doubles, nine homers and 35 runs scored.
The Red Sox also made a couple of moves to bolster their bullpen, recalling right-hander Jonathan Aro and Matt Barnes from Triple-A Pawtucket and selecting left-hander Rich Hill to the active Major League roster from Pawtucket.
All three pitchers are expected to be available for Tuesday night's game.
