PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Pawtucket officials are calling on the owners of the Pawtucket Red Sox to release a feasibility study they say shows renovations to McCoy Stadium would cost $65 million.
Pawtucket Mayor Donald Grebien told Pawtucket Red Sox co-owner Larry Lucchino in a May 22 letter that lawmakers and the public deserve to see the study.
A Grebien spokesman says the city had been trying to meet with PawSox President James Skeffington before Skeffington's death May 17.
The spokesman says it would be expensive for the city to conduct its own feasibility study.
The Triple-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox is eyeing land in downtown Providence for a stadium.
