There were a lot of eyes on Eloy Jimenez on Sunday afternoon at Marlins Park, including quite a few scouts looking at the Cubs’ top prospect.
To get a quality pitcher at the trade deadline, the Cubs may have to part with Jimenez, who has the kind of power and athleticism that could bring him to the majors as soon as next year.
While there’s nothing to suggest the Cubs would part with Jimenez, he knows the drill already and has heard the rumors.
“This is a business and you have to understand that,” Jimenez said after Sunday’s All-Star Futures Game.
