According to Statcast™, Ortiz hit the ball at a velocity of 106 mph and was projected to land 410 feet away.
As Ortiz inches toward the 500-homer milestone, he has gone on a power tear. The homer Wednesday was his sixth in the last 12 games.
Ortiz got off to a quiet start this season, but he has clubbed 26 homers since June 11.
He is aiming to become the 27th player to hit 500 homers. The last player to hit No. 500 for the Red Sox was Manny Ramirez in 2008.
The Red Sox play their next nine games on the road, meaning there's a good chance the Fenway faithful won't be able to witness his milestone homer.
