Big Papi's first blast on the night allowed him to pass Hall of Famer Carl Yastrzemski for second on the team's all-time list.
With 512 home runs in his career, Ortiz also passed Hall of Famer Mel Ott for sole possession of 24th on the all-time list. He needs another 10 long balls to pass Williams on both lists, as The Splendid Splinter played his entire career with Boston.
At the rate Ortiz has been hitting home runs lately, he should be able to accomplish that before he retires at the end of this season.
Ortiz has hit six homers in his last nine games.
