BOSTON -- David Ortiz belted career homer No. 513 in the third inning against Astros right-hander Collin McHugh on Saturday at Fenway Park, passing Hall of Famers Ernie Banks and Eddie Mathews on Major League Baseball's all-time home run list to take sole possession of 22nd place.
The home run was Ortiz's 10th of the season.
Three players are tied for No. 19 on the all-time list with 521: Willie McCovey, Frank Thomas and Ted Williams.
Ortiz's blast also gave the slugger 521 career extra-base hits at Fenway Park, pushing him past Dwight Evans for second all-time behind Williams.
