Pablo Sandoval leaves Red Sox game with dehydration

The gametime temperature at Fenway Park was 91 degrees. Pablo Sandoval lasted just five innings.

After hitting a weak pop-up in the fifth inning, Sandoval never came back on the field and was replaced by newly-acquired infielder Josh Rutledge at third base to start the sixth inning.

It was later announced that Sandoval left the game due to dehydration.

He had walked in his only previous plate appearance but was thrown out at home trying to score from first base on a double by Ryan Hanigan. Third base coach Brian Butterfield sent Sandoval around third but he was thrown out by at least a few feet.
