Pablo Sandoval lands on DL, Josh Rutledge rushes back

The Red Sox just can't get their whole team on the field.

Third baseman Pablo Sandoval is the latest everyday player to miss significant time. He was placed on the 10-day disabled list today with a right knee sprain suffered Sunday in Baltimore.

To fill Sandoval’s spot on the roster, the Red Sox have activated utility infielder Josh Rutledge, who’s missed the start of the season with a hamstring injury. Rutledge played five minor league rehab games and likely would have played more if the Red Sox infield weren’t so short-handed.
