Happy Thursday.
The Red Sox struck out on Juan Soto, Blake Snell, and Max Fried but acquired Garrett Crochet for a not-really-blockbuster package headlined by Kyle Teel.
It moved Boston’s pitching from 20th to 6th on Fangraphs.
It solved a problem.
Filled a hole.
But didn’t change their supposed goal of spending money.
So they could technically do that still. Or at the deadline. Or they just trade and extend.
