Ortiz, 40, has batted .284 with 503 home runs in his career, and he'll be ingrained in Boston lore as the Most Valuable Player in the 2004 American League Championship Series and in the 2013 World Series. Ortiz has hit .295 with 17 home runs in 82 career postseason games.
The Dominican Republic native originally signed with the Mariners as a free agent, and he was later traded to the Twins. Ortiz broke in with Minnesota, but his big league career really took a giant leap forward after he signed with the Red Sox as a free agent prior to the 2003 campaign.
