No Hanley Ramirez, no Pablo Sandoval for Red Sox series opener

With two outs and the tying run on base, John Farrell stuck with Pablo Sandoval last night. Sandoval struck out, and Farrell said there was never a thought of pinch hitting for him.

"Not against a right hander, no," he said.

Well, against a right hander tonight in Houston, Farrell is electing to keep Sandoval out of the starting lineup. Josh Rutledge is back at third base, and curiously, Chris Young is starting at designated hitter. Hanley Ramirez has now been out of the lineup two games in a row after returning to first base on Wednesday night.
