Free agent righthanded pitcher Nathan Eovaldi and the Red Sox have reached an agreement to keep him in Boston, the Globe’s Alex Speier confirmed via a major league source on Thursday.
The agreement is pending a physical. Details of the agreement are not yet known.
Eovaldi appeared in six playoff games (two starts) during the Red Sox’ World Series run, going 2-1 with a 1.61 ERA, a 0.806 WHIP, and 6.4 strikeouts per nine.
After he was acquired by the Red Sox in a July trade, Eovaldi made 12 appearances (11 starts) and posted a 3-3 record with a 3.
