SAN DIEGO — The San Diego Padres opened the second half by beating their nemesis, the San Francisco Giants, who happen to have baseball's best record.
All-Star slugger Wil Myers hit his 20th home run and Adam Rosales also connected off Madison Bumgarner, powering the Padres to a 4-1 victory Friday night.
The Padres snapped a nine-game losing streak to the Giants, their longest against San Francisco.
"They owned us in the first half," manager Andy Green said. "There's no doubt about that. They beat us handily, consistently. It's a lot better being on this side of things.
