Nearly one full day after injuring his shoulder, Trevor Story’s diagnosis has been revealed.
The shortstop suffered a dislocated left shoulder against the Angels on Friday, the Red Sox announced Saturday night. The team placed Story on the 10-day injured list and recalled infielder David Hamilton from Triple-A Worcester as a corresponding move.
Story underwent an MRI in Seattle on Saturday afternoon while Hamilton traveled from the East Coast to Anaheim.
The 31-year-old hurt his left shoulder after diving for a ground ball in the fourth inning on Friday night. He was in a considerable amount of visible pain while grabbing his shoulder and remained on the ground for some time, before exiting the game.
