The Tides are a tough out every night of the week, as they cycle “whoever isn’t with the Orioles” into their lineup. On Thursday afternoon, recently demoted Heston Kjerstad hit his thirteenth Triple-A home run of the season off of starter Richard Fitts, who was otherwise very strong. Fitts allowed just one run over five innings, striking out three to bring his ERA down to 4.35 on the season. In the seventh, top prospect Jackson Holliday, who is just 1-for-11 in the series, hit his fifth homer of the season to put the Tides ahead 3-2. It was a moonshot.
