He’s Nick Sogard. The 26-year-old a first cousin of Eric Sogard, who bounced around the majors for all of last decade in a platoon role. But Nick is now a Major Leaguer himself. He comes from being a consensus locker room leader in Worcester, a ball player’s ballplayer guys can rally around. His numbers have also been pretty good (and getting better) since last year; you may have seen his name on this site a few times, as I’ve subtly advocated for his addition to the Major League roster on my Minor Lines once or twice, such as here and here and here and here and here and here in addition to coming right out and saying it back in April.
