MILWAUKEE — Miami Marlins right-hander David Phelps is going to miss the rest of the season because of a broken bone in his pitching arm.
Manager Dan Jennings said Tuesday before Miami's game at the Milwaukee Brewers, Phelps had an MRI on Monday and it showed a stress fracture of the radius bone in his right forearm.
It is unclear when the injury occurred, but Phelps' only start since Aug. 5 was Sunday at St. Louis. He lasted just 2 1-3 innings and was placed on the disabled list the following day.
"It's unfortunate," Jennings said.
