Lucchino Announces Plans to Step Down as Red Sox CEO

The Red Sox announced yesterday that Larry Lucchino will step down following this season as the Red Sox CEO. Lucchino stated in his statement that he felt it was time to step down and look for other opportunities. It was also announced that Sam Kennedy will be named as his successor.

Lucchino has been the Sox CEO since 2002. He will always have the legacy of bringing three World Series championships to the Red Sox and the city of Boston. He will also be known as the man who came to the Sox and decided that Fenway Park was worth saving.
